MODS® at Country USA June 25-29

Headed to Country USA this week?  Well, if you are, take a break from listening to your favorite bands and stop in to visit us!  We’ll be hanging out all week with one of our MODS® units.  You’ll be able to come inside and see how they’re set up.  We just got back from delivering a MODS® unit to a family in Oklahoma whose home was completely destroyed by the recent tornadoes.  You can read all about it here!

Still need tickets to Country USA?  Check out their website here.   This year, you’ll get to see some great country artists like Gloriana, Toby Keith, and Sheryl Crow.

MODS® Donation to Oklahoma Tornado Victims

June 17 2013:
Last week, Brian Fezatte headed down to Union City, Oklahoma to help set up a MODS® unit that will be in place for a family of 5 until they are able to rebuild their home.  Along with Brian, two of our employees, John and Tom, drove the MODS® unit down to the Mulanax family.

Once we arrived, we were able to see first-hand just how devastating the damage had been:

This is where the Mulanax’s home was.  There is nothing left but rubble and foundation.

This is the underground shelter in which the Mulanax family escaped the tornado.  While their house was destroyed, all five of them were able to survive the storm.

We had some help setting up the unit – Fire Chief Kent Lagaly and Oklahoma State Representative Joe Dorman were present during the set up of the MODS® unit:

We were glad that we were able to help the Mulanax family with providing a temporary shelter for them while they rebuild their home.  This unit will stay in place until their home is rebuilt, allowing them to live on-site while the renovations are taking place.

MODS® Unit Donated to Oklahoma Tornado Victim

MODS® International is donating a MODS® unit to the El Reno, Oklahoma area early next week to a family that was displaced by the recent tornadoes.  It is scheduled to leave our manufacturing facility on Tuesday, June 18.  Once the unit arrives, it will be set up with water, sewer, and air conditioning, and will remain in place while the family rebuilds their home.  We were able to work with Chief Kent Lagaly, the fire chief in El Reno, as well as the local chapters of the Salvation Army and Red Cross in order to find a family that would best benefit from the donation of this temporary shelter.

Doug Larson, founder and president of MODS® International, stated, “We’re excited to be a part of the humanitarian relief effort in Oklahoma.  This is one of the many uses I envisioned when I created MODS®.  I’ll be there in person to deliver it, and our unit will provide a safe haven for this family while they rebuild.”

We hope that this family will be able to rebuild quickly and will feel “at home” as much as possible living in the MODS® until they are able to go back home.
